CPSC (Consumer Products Safety Commission), UL. (Underwriters Laboratory), NFPA, Fire Marshals and
Appliance Manufactures all agree... The #1 cause of residential and commercial Dryer Fires: is "Lack of
Maintenance!" Even if You're meticulous about cleaning your dryer's filter before or after every load,
the fact is that no dryer filter is 100%, there is 'always some' lint that flows through your lint filter.
Otherwise there could be NO air flow at all! The lint that by-passes your filter is damp and adheres to the
insides of your unit and duct system. This collection of lint throughout your dryer and duct system is

We received this service call from a Port St. Lucie customer complaining of 'prolonged drying times'. She
said she would run a "normal" wash load at least "twice" through a drying cycle and at times the clothes
"STILL" were not totally dry!
Anytime there is this much lint build-up your chances for a fire are about 100%. Very dangerous! Lint
build-up here inside her machine is a sure indication of "lint cholesterol" throughout her entire duct system.

And this is where it ended!
Notice there is light at the end of this tunnel, but because of so much back pressure, lint was being forced
back into the dryer itself. This was a two foot section taken from twenty feet through the roof. Thankfully,
the heating unit itself was defective, therefore only generating a fraction of its normal output and resulted in
No fire! The heater assembly and entire exhaust system were replaced, unit cleaned and returned to
service... Drying time cut to 40 minutes! Needless to say, maintenance worked, we all were winners!!
